Our Story

Metro Women’s Center was originally called Baptist for Life of Minnesota, and the journey began in 1990 due to the help of one small donation. We’ve been around for over 30 years and have witnessed many changes, but our heart to reach the women and families in our community has remained the same. We do this through our Hope Program, which provides women with baby items and other material resources to help them have what they need to successfully parent. And we also established our Acacia Fund, which is an in-house financial aid program that gives women and families financial assistance to help with pregnancy-related costs, like groceries, rent, bills, etc.

Our Vision

Our goal is to meet women and families where they are with compassion, respect, and the care they deserve. We believe that in doing so, we are fulfilling our calling of being the hands and feet of Christ in a world that so desperately needs God’s love and comfort. Our vision is to expand the support services we currently provide to reach even more women and families in our community. This is our heart’s desire because we know that when women who are facing unplanned pregnancies have emotional and material support, they are more likely to choose life for their babies.

We actively promote and maintain the sanctity of human life by educating individuals about pregnancy alternatives so that informed decisions concerning the outcome of pregnancy may be made. We desire to do this by respecting the lives of both the mother and the child equally. We believe that the answer to a problem or unplanned pregnancy is not to abort the child but to seek alternatives that allow both parties to live.

Statement of Faith

We are a faith-based organization that exists to share the love of Christ with women and families in our communities. We’re here because we believe in the intrinsic value of human life, from conception to natural death. We want to support women who are facing an unplanned pregnancy and show them that their life has immeasurable value, and so does the life in their womb.
